14 May 2024, Tuesday

3 finalist school teams of the School Business Start project, which is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship", will travel to Moscow, where they will visit the Skolkovo Industrial park.

The final meeting was held in Tatarstan, where the participants of the republican project "School Business Start" presented the financial results of their business projects.

Throughout the school year, within the framework of this project, more than 11 thousand children from different cities and districts of the republic studied the basics of entrepreneurship under a special program: They drew up a portrait of an entrepreneur, passed tests, participated in a charity school fair, presented their own projects, worked on business cases proposed by entrepreneurs - they looked for solutions to specific problems faced by entrepreneurs in their activities, etc.

As a result, out of 11 thousand children of secondary school age from 28 districts of the republic, 120 children reached the final, who most successfully passed all stages of the project. These are representatives of 12 business companies from 9 districts of Tatarstan.

According to the results of the final meeting, 3 winning teams were identified by experts, who are active entrepreneurs. They were in the nominations:

"Domestic producers" - Lyceum No. 2 of the Chistopolsky district (making gift tea for yourself and your loved ones);

"Breakthrough of the year" - Aksubaevskaya secondary school No. 2" (knitting production);

"Business of the future" - Tetyushskaya secondary school No. 1 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Pavel Semenovich Khanzhin (decoration of mugs with polymer clay and manufacture of mugs, saucers, magnets, handmade Christmas toys made of natural clay).

The winning teams will travel to Moscow, where they will visit the Skolkovo Industrial park.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan Alsu Asadullina:

"Projects such as School Business Start are designed to give children additional knowledge and skills, since school education is a classical education that is necessary for all children. Today it is very important to be mobile, to have creative thinking, to take clear and quick actions in order to find your way in life. Such projects help to reveal the talents in a child that they actually have. School age is the most open age, children can do a lot, and if they find an opportunity to sell their products, make this business a part of their lives, their profession, it's great! And it's great that there are people who, within the framework of this project, can teach them not only to do what they love, but also to earn income from it."

Deputy Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship Development of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Emil Khismatov:

"The School Business Start project is being implemented within the framework of the national small and medium-sized entrepreneurship project and is aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills and competencies among schoolchildren. This is a comprehensive training for the younger generation, who, by implementing their investment projects, can become active entrepreneurs in the future, develop in this field, using the full arsenal of knowledge and skills that they received during this training."

Elena Shevtsova, Head of the Entrepreneurship Support Center of the My Business Center of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan:

"My Business Center has been involved in the implementation of the School Business Start project since its very beginning. During this time, more than 20 thousand schoolchildren have completed multi–stage training - not only from Kazan, but also from remote settlements. This project has a very important mission. This is the education of entrepreneurial competencies in children from school. After learning, many children have their own ideas, which can develop into the development of their own entrepreneurial business. Of course, we will be glad to see them, as aspiring entrepreneurs, at the site of the My Business center to support their projects."

Elena Tikhonova, Head of the School Business Start project:

"For the second year in a row, a large-scale project on the formation of entrepreneurial skills among schoolchildren is being implemented in Tatarstan. Moreover, of the 11 thousand children who have been trained this year, more than 8 thousand are from villages and small towns. All the guys who have gained new knowledge about the entrepreneur profession already differ in their thinking and skills from their peers. Perhaps not everyone will create their own business, but they will definitely become a strong support in any team – because they understand the psychology of an entrepreneur, the motives of his actions, the principles of his thinking.

The uniqueness of the project also lies in the fact that the entrepreneurial skills training program is integrated into the school curriculum. As a result, we did not have a single "buy cheaper – sell more expensive" project. There were projects related to the production of their products or the provision of some services.  On behalf of the parents, I thank all the organizers of the project for the opportunity to teach children for free – not everyone in Russia has such opportunities."

"School Business Start" is a unique republican project that is being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Fund for Support of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tatarstan. For the second year, he helps to develop entrepreneurial skills in children of grades 5-7, including those studying in rural schools and small towns of the Republic of Tatarstan. The project is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises".
