The VEB.RF Group has supported Tatarstan's IT projects for almost 1.4 billion rubles

The Russian Foundation for the Development of Information Technologies (RFRIT) is part of the VEB.RF group) has financed 14 IT projects in Tatarstan worth more than 1.4 billion rubles. The total cost of the projects amounted to 2.5 billion rubles. This became known during a strategic session with the republic's technology companies at the Bashir Rameev IT Park Technopark in Kazan, which takes place as part of the business mission of the VEB.RF development Institutes and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) in Kazan.

Development institutes are conducting a series of business missions in Russia. Their main goal is to scale projects that are designed to improve the state of the economy and the quality of life in the region. The event takes place in Tatarstan on January 25-26. Residents will present the works announced at the forum "Strong Ideas for a new Time", and regional brands participating in the ASI competition, the Roscongress Foundation and VEB.RF "Know our people".

Six Tatarstan projects in the field of IT technologies are already successfully operating and solving tasks for the development of the urban economy, eight more are under implementation, including at large industrial enterprises.  Since 2019, RFRIT has supported 183 companies totaling more than 28.8 billion rubles, including 22 particularly significant projects worth more than 17 billion rubles.

The development of the Republic's digital ecosystem is being implemented in close coordination with federal development institutions, which makes Tatarstan ranked 1st in terms of the number of IT projects supported by the fund and the amount of grant funding.

"To date, 14 IT projects have received grants for development in Tatarstan, more than 6.5 thousand representatives of SMEs have used the RFRIT program for digitalization of small and medium-sized businesses, 4 companies with the support of the fund have compensated the costs of online promotion of their products for a total of 2.5 million rubles.  The region has a very strong IT community with great potential to launch digital solutions. Our task is to scale the projects implemented in the Republic and ensure their promotion to foreign markets. We offer the widest possible set of support measures for the industry. This is not only grant funding for the development, refinement and implementation of Russian IT solutions. We help IT companies with export ambitions to bring competitive Russian products to friendly markets with the help of the Digital Attache service. The SME digitalization program has been successfully implemented in the region. As part of our business mission, we want to scale the successful experience of Tatarstan," said Alexander Pavlov, CEO of RFTIT.

The Republic of Tatarstan is a leader in the field of IT. One of the projects in the region has grown from an idea to an international level is the Russian electric car gadget ATOM, which combines modern achievements in the automotive industry and advanced developments in the field of information technology. By the autumn of 2023, 13 copies of the production version of the electric vehicle platform were created, testing will take place until the middle of this year. Today, the manufacturing company has started testing - this is a set of constructive, production and design solutions that are designed to create several models of electric cars. The electric car will roll off the assembly line in 2025. 

"We need the help of development institutions. We are now becoming residents of Skolkovo, we are residents of the IT Park, we are also part of the Russia–China Intergovernmental Commission. Our main goal is to launch on the domestic market and enter the international market," said Anatoly Kiyashko, Director of Interaction with Public Authorities at Kama JSC.

On the second day of the regional mission, on January 26, Igor Shuvalov will visit the scientific and technical center of KAMAZ PJSC and the test site, inspect the progress of work on the 6th stage of the Kama industrial park "Master" in Naberezhnye Chelny. Then he will take part in a meeting with the Head of Tatarstan and visit the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

He will also inspect the multidisciplinary lyceum "Perspektiva", built with the support of VEB.RF, and will meet there with high school students, students and young teachers of schools and universities of the republic, with whom he will discuss the most pressing issues of Russia's economic development.

Previously, business missions were conducted in the Kaliningrad and Lipetsk regions, as well as in Veliky Novgorod.
