Municipal practices of Tatarstan are recognized as the best in the country

The winners of the All-Russian competition "Best Municipal Practice" have been determined, four local self-government bodies from Tatarstan are among the best. Kazan, Innopolis, Tatarsko-Chelny rural settlement of Mendeleevsky district and Vysokaya Gora will receive funding for the development of their projects. This year 1300 applications from 78 regions of Russia were sent to participate in the competition, 50 prizes were distributed. 

The competition for the selection of best practices was held in 5 nominations: "Ensuring effective feedback", "Municipal economic policy and municipal finance management", "Modernization of urban economy through the introduction of digital technologies and platform solutions (smart city)", "Urban planning policy" and "Strengthening interethnic peace". 

The city of Kazan took the third place in the nomination "Municipal economic policy and municipal finance management" in the first category.

In the nomination "Ensuring effective feedback with residents of municipalities, development of territorial public self-government" in the second category, Tatarsko-Chelny rural settlement of Mendeleevsky district took second place.

In the nomination "Modernization of urban economy through the introduction of digital technologies and platform solutions (smart city)" in the first category, the third place went to the city of Innopolis.

In the nomination "Urban planning policy, ensuring a favorable living environment for the population and the development of housing and communal services" in the second category, the third place was awarded to the Vysokogorskoye rural settlement.

Thus, Kazan and Innopolis will receive 25.5 million rubles each for the implementation of the project, Tatarsko-Chelny rural settlement of Mendeleevsky district - 12.75 million rubles, High Mountain - 5.95 million rubles.

The annual All-Russian competition "Best Municipal Practice" has been held since 2017. It is aimed at the development of the municipal economy, urban planning and national policy, digitalization of the urban economy, as well as ensuring competent management of local finances and effective feedback from residents. The participants present projects that have already been successfully implemented to address issues important to citizens in various areas of the organization of municipal administration. The winners receive cash prizes, which are directed to further development. For the entire duration of the competition, 6229 municipalities participated in it, of which 245 took prizes.

"Most of the applications were from Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Tatarstan, Chechnya, Udmurtia, Volgograd and Ulyanovsk regions. The funds will be brought to the municipalities by the end of the year so that they can direct them to their development," commented Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.
