The most important factor in ensuring economic growth, taking into account the number of employees, is the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which employ more than 40% of those employed in the economy of the republic. In 2021, the number of people employed in SMEs, taking into account the self-employed, amounted to 787 thousand people, which is 14.5% more than the same period in 2020. This was announced today by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov at a meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan ""Results for 2021. Tasks for 2022. Factors for Ensuring Sustainable Growth of the Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

The achievement of this indicator was facilitated, among other things, by the implementation of a set of republican support measures. In 2021, entrepreneurs and the self-employed of the republic, taking into account the existing capitalization of structures subordinate to the ministry (the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan), were provided with support in the amount of 3.55 billion rubles. In 2022, financing to support business from the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan is provided in the amount of up to 4.53 billion rubles. This amount includes the implementation of financial and non-financial programs and support tools.
