Tatarstan among the leading regions of the national project "Labor Productivity"

16 February 2022, Wednesday

Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Region, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and Nizhny Novgorod Region topped the ranking of regions in terms of labor productivity. It was compiled for the first time by the Ministry of Economic Development as part of the Labor Productivity national project, which is supervised by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.

The list of 49 regions is divided into three parts: leaders, middle group and lagging subjects. The regions that joined the national project in 2021 were evaluated outside the rating.

When calculating 20 indicators, they evaluate binary, with the exception of labor productivity growth. The compilers looked at how widely the programs of the national project are used in the region and how many enterprises have increased productivity by at least 5%.

In the 12 leading regions, labor productivity increased at a greater number of enterprises than the national average. They are more actively using support programs for the national project. This group included Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Region, the Republics of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Udmurtia, Sverdlovsk, Belgorod, Volgograd, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk Regions and Primorsky Territory.

“The purpose of the rating is to identify exemplary regions and recall all support measures for the national project, so that, using them, newcomers and lagging behind can achieve the indicators of the leaders of the rating. This is not only targeted assistance from centers of excellence, but also advanced training programs, concessional lending and assistance in exporting. Using the entire menu of the national project, the region can qualitatively change its production culture,” said Alexander Molodtsov, Director of the Department of Labor Productivity, Protection and Promotion of Investments of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Enterprises of the middle group regions are less likely to resort to one-percent loans from the IDF and participate in the export acceleration program. There are only four subjects among the lagging behind, but they are separated from the middle group by one or two points.

Interim ratings of labor productivity will be formed throughout the year: April 30, August 31 and December 31. The final rating is published no later than December 15 of the following year. This is due to the method of calculating labor productivity.

The leader of the rating gets the right to host the annual federal forum "Productivity 360". This is the main platform in the country for the exchange of experience in the field of lean manufacturing and replication of the best practices for increasing labor productivity.
