Tatarstan is the leader in the Privolzhsky Federal District in terms of the number of entrepreneurs

Tatarstan retains a leading position in the Privolzhsky Federal District for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. In terms of the number of business entities, the republic ranks 1st in the Privolzhsky Federal District and 7th in Russia. Today, a third of the economically active population of the region is employed in the SME sector. 

The year 2020 has shown how important it is to respond quickly to the economic situation and adjust support measures in accordance with business requests. Thus, the "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative" national project, as well as federal and regional mechanisms for targeted business support were developed taking into account the real needs of SMEs and aimed at maintaining entrepreneurial activity and restoring employment.

Thanks to comprehensive support measures, the republic managed to increase the number of employed by SMEs – today their number is 536 thousand people, which is 3 thousand higher than at the end of last year (533.3 thousand people).

For further positive dynamics in this direction, measures will be implemented this year to stimulate the growth of self-employed citizens, improve support for existing and novice entrepreneurs and increase the efficiency of industrial parks.

Let us recall that 1.2 billion rubles were allocated to support Tatarstan entrepreneurs in 2021 as part of the implementation of the national project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative" and republican programs.
