More than 100 thousand are registered today as self-employed in Tatarstan - this is 10% of the total number of self-employed in the country.
Let us recall that in 2019 Tatarstan became one of four pilot regions to introduce a special tax regime. Entrepreneurs of the republic appreciated the convenience and ease of doing business as self-employed, as evidenced by over 100 thousand registered Tatarstan citizens. It should be noted that, starting from July 1, the “Professional Income Tax” was introduced in all regions of the country, at present the total number of self-employed in Russia has exceeded 1 million people.
“Professional Income Tax” gives the right to legalize entrepreneurial activity with minimal costs and conduct it in a simpler regime. For individual entrepreneurs without hired employees, whose annual turnover does not exceed 2.4 million rubles, registration as self-employed allows you to optimize the tax administration of activities.
It should be noted that the number of self-employed in Tatarstan has increased by more than 38 thousand this year; at the end of 2019, the number of citizens who chose the Professional Income Tax for themselves was 62 thousand. A significant increase in those wishing to conduct their business in the legal field in Tatarstan was recorded during the period of restrictive measures caused by the pandemic.
In June of this year, a law was adopted at the federal level that provides self-employed people with access to state support measures. Among them - the expansion of preferential financial instruments, an increase in training programs, provision of marketing support.
A large-scale forum was held for the Tatarstan self-employed, aimed at popularizing the special tax regime and work in the legal field. Within its framework, a series of training lectures was held on topical issues of self-employment.
The forum became an opportunity for residents of the republic not only to tell about their products, but also to find new customers. For the self-employed, trading places were provided free of charge, where they were able to present and sell products of their own production - toys, clothes, food, jewelry and much more. For two days of the event, the participants' revenue amounted to about 900 thousand rubles.
For the self-employed of Tatarstan, free consulting support is available at the “My Business” center in the “Self-Employed Support Center”, and from the specialists of the Internet resource “Verified Business”. You can get advice on the mechanism for paying insurance premiums, using the application and issuing checks for transactions, concluding an agreement with legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
Starting from December 1, 2020, the microfinance product “Self-employed” has been launched in Tatarstan. For those who meet the program requirements, up to 500 thousand rubles are available at 6% per annum for a period of 3 to 24 months for any expenses justified by the borrowers necessary to carry out activities, the profit from which is subject to the “Professional Income Tax”. In addition, the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan provides a guarantee in the amount of up to 50% of the microloan amount.
Since 2019, the Autonomous non-profit organization “Self-Employed Support Center” has been operating in the Republic of Tatarstan. The work of the Center is coordinated and inextricably linked with the activities of the Office of the Commissioner under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republican Administration of the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan. The key task of the Center is to support and develop self-employment through consultations, organizing events at city and republican levels, and conducting training programs.
