The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan discussed the development of the Islamic financial sector in the Republic of Tatarstan
Today, an online meeting was held with the International Organization for Accounting and Auditing for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), during which important issues of interaction between the Republic of Tatarstan and AAOIFI were considered.
In his speech, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Amirkhanov stressed the need to deepen cooperation between the parties.
The meeting also discussed organizational issues related to the holding of the AAOIFI conference on Islamic banking and finance within the framework of the events of the International Economic Forum "Russia — the Islamic World: KazanForum" in 2025. Orientalist Khalid Gamdan stressed that this event will be an important platform for discussing topical issues and developing strategies for the development of the Islamic financial system.
The meeting with AAOIFI confirmed the desire of the Republic of Tatarstan to actively develop Islamic financial institutions and deepen international cooperation. The parties agreed to fix the agreements reached in the form of an action plan (roadmap), which will become the basis for the start of concrete interaction.
