Ministry of economy of the RT attracted 10 anchor residents to Zelenodolsk industrial site

On the territory of the industrial site "Zelenodolsk" opened a new wholesale and distribution center "Kazan" network retailer X5 Retail Group, whose work will increase the share of local producers in the supply of Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Mari El and Chuvashia. With the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, on November 11, the construction of two more logistics centers was launched – for Internet trade companies OZON and Wildberries. In total, 10 residents are already implementing their investment projects on the territory of the Zelenodolsk industrial site.

The implementation of three projects for the construction of logistics centers will attract more than 10 billion rubles of investments to the economy of the Republic, create more than 7.5 thousand new jobs and will promote the promotion of products produced in the Republic of Tatarstan, including small and medium-sized businesses and the self-employed.

"Almost half of the population of Russia lives within a radius of 1000 km, which provides an opportunity to organize convenient transport links between these regions and Tatarstan, and therefore fast delivery of products from the warehouse facilities of our partners. The geographical position of the Republic determines its key role in the transport links of the Eastern and European parts of Russia, as well as in communication with the countries of the near and far abroad. These projects, in addition to the development of the internal territories of Tatarstan, are an important tool for bringing our local producers to the national and international markets, increasing the share of trade in the GRP and the share of non-oil exports of the region, " the Minister of economy of th RT Farid Abdulganiev said

In total, 10 residents are implementing their projects on the territory of the Zelenodolsk industrial site, among them LLC "Tatfarm", LLC "Promenergo", "Kazan plant of polymer valves" and others. Residents can use the infrastructure of the industrial site and preferences PSEDA "Zelenodolsk".

Investments for the construction of engineering and road infrastructure were attracted by the Ministry of economy of the RT. The project was co-financed by the "Single-industry Towns Development Fund". The total cost of construction is estimated at 1.3 billion rubles, of which the Fund amounted to 931.5 million rubles. 

The capacity of the distribution center "Kazan" will allow to process 5 thousand tons of goods per day and serve 1200 stores "Pyaterochka" in more than 100 settlements of Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Mari El and Chuvashia. When the complex reaches full capacity X5 Retail Group plans to increase the share of Tatarstan producers in the turnover. Now about 100 suppliers of the region cooperate with the network retailer, 19 of which added their products to the range of retail chains in 2018.

The launch of the first stage of the logistics hub of Russia's largest online store in terms of online sales of Wildberries is expected in the first half of 2020.

"The opening of the new distribution center will not only create more than 4 thousand new jobs in the region next year, but also accelerate the delivery of online store orders to customers of the Volga Federal District, expand our range, strengthen cooperation with small and medium-sized businesses of the Republic. 50 suppliers from Tatarstan are already working with the company, their turnover at Wildberries for 9 months of 2019 compared to the same period last year increased by 208% to 273.4 million rubles. In addition, thanks to the emergence of a new large distribution center, entrepreneurs in the region will be able to significantly optimize their logistics costs, " Wildberries CEO Tatyana Bakalchuk said.

Another participant of the e-commerce market, OZON group of companies will build a logistics center with an area of 38 thousand square meters (the area of the first stage of the object) on the territory of 10.5 hectares at the Zelenodolsk industrial site. The volume of attracted investments will exceed 2 billion rubles. The distribution center of the online trading operator will open in the 3rd quarter of 2020, the project will create more than 1 thousand new jobs.

According to Ozon CEO Alexander Shulgin, the volume of online purchases in Tatarstan is growing by more than 110% in 2019. "While the penetration of e-commerce in Russia and Tatarstan does not exceed 4-6%, but the market potential is very large - for example, our sales in the Republic increased by more than 110% compared to last year. It is the development of logistics infrastructure that is the key driver for market growth. Our new hub will allow to store and process 7 million goods and deliver them to the residents of the Republic day by day or the next day. Moreover, this applies even to the most remote settlements, " Alexander Shulgin underlinedAccording to him, an ecosystem will grow around the hub for the successful development of commodity producers and the growth of their online sales, as well as a new market for last mile delivery services will develop.
