Measures taken and agreements signed within the framework of the Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum were discussed today at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov told about collaboration of the Saint-Petersburg and Tatarstan in pharmaceutical cluster development. He said, that the Republic pays lots of attention to the possibility of involvement of pharmaceutical companies. This August, the 3rd All-Russian GMP conference will take place in Tatarstan: Russia and the World. Management of the Pharmaceutical Market Growth Potential.

Besides, an Agreement on cooperation was signed by the Republic of Tatarstan and the Tashkent Region for cooperation in various area, including implementation of projects in agriculture and expansion of KAMAZ operations within the Tashkent Region.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan — Minister of Informatisation and Communications of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhuddinov reported, that within the framework of the forum, prospects of future interactions of Tatarstan and IBM (International Business Machines) were discussed in the area electronic public health services, development of contacts in the area of education and science, implementation of IBM experience and technologies in digital development of the Republic. Besides, an agreement was signed with Cisco on development of IT-education system in the Republic of Tatarstan. The agreement also provides for cooperation in terms of support and development of the WorldSkills movement in the Republic of Tatarstan under the competences associated with network technologies and cyber security; preparation and holding of international WorldSkills championship in Kazan in 2019 under Network Administration competence; development and implementation of a program for support of early vocational guidance and preliminary professional training of school children in IT.

This year, the topic of the forum is establishment of trust economy, - Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev said. - In this connection, the Saint-Petersburg Forum is a venue of mutual trust, open dialog of authorities, business, and organisations of various countries. For Tatarstan the Forum is a venue, where our results can be shown, investors can be found, and new technologies can be learnt for implementation in our republic. All this is meant for improvement of competitiveness of Tatarstan, and wellbeing of our citizens.

 An important event of the forum for the Republic, according to Minister of Economy of Tatarstan, was launching by President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Vitalievna Chupsheva of the web-site of the strategic initiatives of the Republic. At i.tatarstan2030.ru everyone can send their initiatives on changes in Strategy-2030. The best initiatives will be included in the Development Strategy of the Republic. Besides, mobile application of the web-side is already available for IOS and Android.  An agreement was also signed with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for implementation in Tatarstan of the Future Staff for the Regions initiative, - Minister Abdulganiev reported. The initiative is meant for training and professional support of school children oriented on development of their region. An obligatory element of this effort will be internship.

Besides, within the framework of the forum, a meeting was held of Vice Prime Minister Tatiyana Golikova and heads of the regions – members of Association of Innovative Regions of Russia. Issues of further development of innovative regions were discussed, as well as the economy performance improvement, and establishment of comfortable environment of the population.

2 events were dedicated to the 1st in the history of the country Worldskills championship, that will be held in Kazan in 2019. Agreements were signed, under which Rosatom and Coca Cola became partners of this event, and will cooperate with the Republic to prepare and hold international championship in professional skills.

This year, more than 100 countries were represented at the forum.

Over 130 events were held, including international ones, such as SCO, BRICS conferences, B20 regional consultative forum, business dialogs of the countries, including that between Russia and France, president of which Emmanuel Macron this year became an honourable guest of the forum.
