Priority Development Territories may be the first Russian regions to apply new approaches to monitoring and supervision activities, including the abandonment of routine inspections and an agreement with the business for additional transparency.

Thus, in the nearest time the proposals will be submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation. They were prepared by the Ministry of Development of the East of Russia of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia jointly with the interested federal bodies of the executive power for endowing investors on the Priority Development Territories with a right to select between the applicable mode of checks and the special one, when the routine checks will be replaced for self control from the business part.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation may also wish to consider the possibility not to apply on Priority Development Territories the documents adopted more than 15 years ago during the inspections.

It is expected that the application of new approaches to monitoring and supervision activities, in particular the introduction of a self-assessment mechanism for compliance with mandatory requirements on Priority Development Territories, will reduce the administrative load on the business.
