The competition “starting point” is being held in order to popularize the ideas of transparency of NCO and promoting their principles. The competition is focused at one of the most important tools of transparency - public annual report. The aim of the project is the development of the principles of transparency and accountability sector through stimulation of preparing annual reports SONKO and competitive mechanism for their evaluation.
Non-profit organizations are invited to attend the competition of annual reports, which operate and/or registered on the territory of the Russian Federation for at least one year; carry out their programs in the Russian Federation for at least one year; post their annual report available on the Internet.
Reception of application forms for participation in the contest will last from 1 May to 31 July. To participate you will need to submit a public annual report and apply on the competition website.
Applications will be judged by criteria such as: availability and quality contained in the annual report the minimum baseline; form presented; completeness, integrity and consistency of the report; report compliance with the needs of the target audience. According to the results of the competition, each annual report will be assigned to one of four categories:
"Base level"- a report, formally the requirements of disclosure.
"Bronze standard"-a report of good quality, but requires better disclosure.
"Silver Standard" is a high quality report that has the ability to refine up to best practices.
"Gold standard" report, which is a role model and containing full and creative information provided.
The contest of annual reports is the first part of an extensive programme to improve the transparency of nonprofit organizations, which is implemented by the Association of grantmaking organizations Donors ' Forum with the support of the Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation, public relations Committee of Moscow, in partnership with the Agency for social information, the Centre of philanthropy and social activism in Moscow "Blagosfera" Committee of civil initiatives and The civil forum.
The second part of this program is the public discussion by experts and the community in general principles of transparency as a key factor in building trust to nonprofit organizations from key stakeholders at various venues at the Federal and regional levels.
The third part of the program involves a number of educational events in different formats (seminars, webinars, workshops), which aim to foster within the organizations culture of transparency and accountability through the preparation of a voluntary public annual reports.
