A business forum the Party “United Russia” is the Communist Party of China, dedicated to regional cooperation in the pairing of the Eurasian Economic Union project and the New Silk Way, which discussed aspects of economic cooperation of the parties, was held on the site of the IT park.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Party "United Russia" Mr. Boris Gryzlov, Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the Party Mr. Sergei Zheleznyak, Chairman of the Council of State, the Secretary of the Political Council of the “Unified Russia”, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Sun Tao.

Prior to the opening ceremony of the Forum the presentation of the investment potential of Tatarstan was shown to the guests. The Russian and Chinese companies discussed the issues of the development of socio-economic cooperation, optimization of trade structure, simplification of mutual investment, as well as the development of industrial cooperation. The Forum was also attended by representatives of Russia, in particular, by senior management and officials of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, Perm Region, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen Regions.

In his welcome speech for the participants of the Forum, Mr. Boris Gryzlov stressed that the relations between Russia and China were increasingly strengthening. Today it is the most important factor of international relations of the world political and economic order.

The sanctions imposed on Russia complicate its relations with the West. In this regard, I would like to note that the argument that “sanctions have forced Russia to turn to the East” is not quite correct. “China has always been and remains the important partner of Russia”, - said the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Party “United Russia”, appealing to the guests of the Forum. “Close interaction between our two countries is based on the understanding of the need for joint solution of a variety of large and small tasks”.

According to Mr. Boris Gryzlov, the China's support is very important for Russia, being a permanent member of the UN Security Council in a difficult relationship with the United States and Europe. China's participation in the organizations of the SCO and BRIC reinforces the trend of creating a multipolar world.

“China does not have the habit to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and does not finance organization with doubtful character reputation. We are looking for ways of joint addressing global challenges, not forgetting that the supremacy of international law should be the benchmark for world politics. Convergence can and should be based not only on shared economic and political interests, but also on the basis of cultural values of our peoples”, - said Mr. Boris Gryzlov, expressing his confidence that United Russia and the Communist Party of China will be able to establish contacts in the field of social sciences by promoting cooperation between the Academy of social sciences of China and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

As it was noted in his statement, by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Party “United Russia”, the result of interaction between Russia and China today is largely dependent on the degree of practical implementation of programs of cooperation.

Mr.  Boris Gryzlov spoke in detail about the project of high-speed railway road “Moscow-Beijing”, implemented in Russia, where the most important segment is the Highway “Moscow-Kazan”. China is also the investor and participant in the construction.

“Interfacing of projects belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union and the ones of the New Silk Way is not just a transport and logistics initiative, which helps to move goods to European or Asian markets. This is a complex of measures for accelerated development of the whole regions of Russia and the countries of the Central Asia, and for China – is a method to accelerate development of some provinces”, – concluded Mr. Boris Gryzlov.

In his response Mr. Sun Tao evaluated the projects of the Eurasian Economic Union and the New Silk Way, as important initiatives for Russia to respond to the low growth of prices on the world market.

During his visit to China in June 2016 President of Russia Mr. V. Putin achieved agreements with Chairman of the PRC Mr. Si Jinpin on establishing a big Eurasian partnership, pointing to future directions in interfacing in various spheres. “Joint efforts of China and Russia would become a new impetus for global economic recovery”, - said the Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

During the event, representatives of the Russian and Chinese delegations made reports on cooperation in various fields.

Summing up the work of the Forum Mr. Farid Mukhametshin noted the importance of the fact that delegation of Tatarstan included representatives of business, with whom the additional business links were established. “We told to each other openly about our opportunities. I hope that we will start to move towards each other with new power and energy and to achieve targets, that we have set”, – told the Chairman of State Council of RT.

In the final part of the event a number of bilateral agreements and interaction projects were signed. In particular, in respect of establishment of the first Chinese trade electronic platform with 100% Russian investments.
