Russia and Japan expand cooperation in the SMB segment

On June 29-30, 2015 Japan was visited by the Russian delegation headed by the director of the department of development of small and average business and the competition of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Natalya Larionova.
In delegation from 15 representatives of the Russian companies and the organizations included also the Minister of Economics of the Republic of Tatarstan Artyom Zdunov.
Carrying out the III Russian-Japanese dialogue on MSB on June 29, 2015 in the Ministry of Economics, trade and the industry of Japan at co-chairmanship of the deputy head of Agency of small and average business Tosinori Kobayasi became a main objective of business mission.
Also meetings with the management of Japanese federation of corporations of credit guarantees, Japanese finance corporation, the Organization of small and average business and regional innovations of Japan took place.
Members of delegation visited the Institute of the physical and chemical researches "Riken", largest in Japan, Oppama plant of the Nissan company, center of collective use of science and technology park "Kasivanokha Smart city", and also the center of researches of industrial technologies of the Tokyo industrial and technological research institute.
During active discussions and exchange of experience concerning the state support of activity of small and medium business, development of mechanisms of guaranteeing and crediting of MSB, and also optimization of system of embedding of the companies of this segment in production chains and research and development the parties agreed about further cooperation for improvement of mechanisms of rendering practical assistance of MSB.
As part of the program, the Minister visited the Arsky Industrial Park, where he got acquainted with the current activities and long-term plans of the residents. During the inspection of the production facilities, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov held a substantive discussion with the heads of enterprises on capacity expansion and improving the efficiency of using the existing infrastructure.
Applications for the Start-Digital Technologies-1 competition (turn 2) are being accepted on the website of the Innovation Promotion Foundation until February 24. Individuals and legal entities, small business entities, can participate in it.
Rustem Mukhamedshin, Director of the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in a large–scale event - the strategic session of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan, which took place on January 30, 2026 in Kazan at the Entrepreneur's House.
