VEB.RF signed the first agreement on co-financing infrastructure in a single-industry town in Tatarstan

The first infrastructure co-financing agreement was concluded by VEB.RF with the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of 65.4 million rubles for the construction of infrastructure facilities for factories producing refrigeration freezing equipment and water heaters in Naberezhnye Chelny. With the support of VEB.RF, more than 1,000 new jobs will be created in the single-industry town, and more than 9 billion rubles of investments will be attracted.

The corresponding agreement was signed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the chief managing partner for urban development VEB.RF Irina Makieva.

At the expense of the development corporation, off-site networks will be built for enterprises, in particular, storm sewers, water supply and sanitation networks. Thanks to the development of the projects of the mentioned plants, a whole cluster of manufacturers of the component base for the production of household appliances will appear in the region, and it will also be possible to significantly expand the range of products and the geography of sales, including for export.

“VEB.RF will issue the first money for an infrastructure project in a single-industry town. Today, any additional funds are a huge support for such territories. Monotowns are actively involved in the work, applications are received every day, the next projects are already on the way,” Irina Makieva commented on the signing of the agreement.

The total cost of construction of infrastructure facilities will be over 160 million rubles.

“The signed agreement allows creating the necessary infrastructure for investors to work in Tatarstan. Thanks to VEB's support for our initiative, the construction of off-site networks will be carried out, and this, in turn, will accelerate the launch of new plants,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

It should be reminded that earlier monotowns were supported by a specialized development institute - a non-profit organization “Fund for the Development of Monotowns. In connection with the reform of development institutions, launched in 2020, by decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, MONOTOWNS.RF is subject to liquidation. The Fund's project portfolio, as well as all the functions of the organization, were transferred to VEB.RF.
