One of the largest Russian ice cream producers Chelny Kholod OJSC from the monotown of Naberezhnye Chelny of the Republic of Tatarstan, which previously received an interest-free loan from the MONOTOWN.RF Fund (now all functions have been transferred to VEB.RF), has increased the production capacity of the ice cream shop. 250 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. As a result of the implementation of the investment project, over 1.3 billion rubles were attracted to the economy of the single-industry city.
As part of the project, equipment was purchased for filling and packaging ice cream in waffle cups and cones. Such support allowed us to almost double the capacity of the existing ice cream production.
“An integrated approach is important for the development of small towns. VEB.RF's support helps us improve the infrastructure of Tatarstan single-industry towns and develop their commercial and social prospects. Together with the Corporation, we support entrepreneurs by creating comfortable conditions for the implementation of investment projects, ensuring the lives of citizens and creating new jobs,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.
The company created an additional 20 new jobs.
Recall that earlier monotowns were supported by a specialized development institute - a non-profit organization “Fund for the Development of Monotowns. In connection with the reform of development institutions, launched in 2020, by decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, MONOTOWNS.RF is subject to liquidation. The Fund's project portfolio, as well as all the functions of the organization, were transferred to VEB.RF. Since September of this year, the state corporation has begun accepting applications from entrepreneurs from single-industry towns.
For reference: OJSC Chelny Kholod was registered in 2000. The assortment of the enterprise includes more than 120 types of ice cream.
