Naberezhnye Chelny and Mendeleevsk became leaders in the rating of single-industry towns for 2021
State Corporation VEB.RF presented the results of the rating of single-industry towns for 2021. The TOP-10 of the best included 2 Tatarstan cities - Naberezhnye Chelny and Mendeleevsk, which showed a high level of socio-economic development. The event was held at the site of the Russian News Agency TASS in a mixed format, the Republic of Tatarstan was represented by the Deputy Minister of Economy of the region Airat Shamsiev.
The TOP-10 best single-industry towns included: Naberezhnye Chelny and Mendeleevsk of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tolyatti of the Samara Region, Gubkin of the Belgorod Region, Pavlovsk of the Voronezh Region, Cherepovets of the Vologda Region, Tulun of the Irkutsk Region, Blagoveshchensk of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Nevinnomyssk of the Stavropol Territory and Kirovsk of the Murmansk Region.
Thus, Naberezhnye Chelny is among the leaders in terms of the quality and availability of infrastructure; the city has a high level of economic proactivity of the population. Mendeleevsk is one of the leaders in terms of assessment of the economic situation by the population of the city, the citizens also note a high level of trust in the activities of the head of the city.
One of the important tools for the development of the economy of single-industry towns is the co-financing by the Monotown Development Fund of the construction of engineering and road infrastructure for the implementation of investment projects.
“Thanks to the program, infrastructure worth more than 3.7 billion rubles was built in 4 single-industry towns of Tatarstan, of which 2.6 billion rubles were financed by the Fund. The funds are directed to: reconstruction of key highways in Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk; creation of engineering and road infrastructure for industrial parks in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Zelenodolsk; construction of off-site networks for large-scale investment projects of X5 Retail Group; the construction of an access road to the factory for the production of refrigerators of the company "Smart Machines" is being completed. The construction of this infrastructure has made it possible to create more than 15,000 new jobs in single-industry towns,” Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Shamsiev noted at the announcement of the rating.
It should be noted that the rating of single-industry towns has been carried out since 2016 and is calculated on the basis of 17 indicators grouped into 4 blocks: statistical indicators, survey indicators of the population and business, and indicators for assessing the interaction of the city with development institutions.
