The results of the first wave of the "Student Startup" competition of the Innovation Assistance Fund have been summed up. In total, 650 winners were determined in the first wave. Tatarstan became the second region after Moscow in terms of the number of laureates. In the republic, a grant in the amount of 1 million rubles will be received by 81 students and graduate students of universities.

The competition is held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Innovation Promotion Foundation as part of the federal project "University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform". This year, 1 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for the competition.

In total, 2.3 thousand applications were received for the first stage of the competition. Of these, an expert jury selected 650 winners. Most of these startups are aimed at creating digital technologies and new devices for almost all sectors of the economy and industry.

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the regional representative office of the Innovation Promotion Foundation - Technopark "Idea", assisted in the preparation and support of student projects, provided methodological and consulting support, and assistance in the formation of applications for participation.

Recall that the selection of student applications included several stages, including defense in an online format. As part of the expert jury, the manufacturability, market prospects, competitiveness and qualification of projects were evaluated by representatives of the business community, universities and scientific organizations, accelerators and other operators of the federal project.

We also note that until July 15, works are being accepted for the second wave, where, among other things, participants who did not win in the first stage of the competition can apply. To do this, they need to finalize their applications and eliminate the identified comments.
