A briefing was held in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, where they discussed the results of the participation of the Tatarstan delegation headed by the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov in the 25th anniversary St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. One of the key speakers of the briefing was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov. He spoke about the work of the delegation of Tatarstan, the results of the republic in the National rating of subjects of the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the forum, meetings were held between the President of the Republic and the President of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ambassadors of a number of states, governors of the Russian Federation, heads of state corporations and major business companies of the Russian Federation, and a number of agreements were signed. In total, on the sidelines of the SPIEF, Tatarstan signed 32 agreements, including 14 governmental ones.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov noted that participation in the forum made it possible to receive detailed analytics from experts from all over the country, to exchange best practices. One of the main events of the forum has traditionally been the announcement of the results of the National Investment Climate Rating. Tatarstan confirmed its leading position, taking second place in the ranking among 85 constituent entities of Russia.
“According to 41 indicators, which is about 62 percent, the republic is in the leading positions. This includes connecting to power grids, obtaining rental space for small and medium-sized businesses, obtaining a building permit, cadastral registration, and others. This is the result of ongoing systematic work aimed at improving the investment attractiveness of our republic,” said Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.
As part of the announcement of the National Rating, the following indicators of Tatarstan were highly appreciated: a developed business support infrastructure, an increase in the share of jobs in technoparks and industrial parks; reduction in the number of control and supervisory inspections of the business; the quality of regional legislation, according to investors, in this area Tatarstan has achieved the highest possible result.
Minister of Economy of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov said that today the necessary infrastructure for business development has been created in the republic. There are two Special Economic Zones, 5 TASEDs and 94 Industrial Industrial Parks. For residents, federal and republican tax preferences are implemented. These territories are attractive for investors.
The minister noted that the share of indicators (72%) of the rating was formed based on the results of surveys of entrepreneurs and investors. Statistical data and expert assessments are also used. The rating consists of 67 indicators in 4 areas: the regulatory environment, institutions for business, infrastructure and resources, support for small businesses.
The briefing at the Government House was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganeev, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Acting Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Insaf Galiev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilshat Gimaev.
