As part of SPIEF-2022, an interregional agreement was signed between Rostourism and 5 subjects of the Volga Federal District: the Republics of Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Mari El, Samara and Ulyanovsk regions on the development of the Great Volga Way project.

The document was signed by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Zarina Doguzova and the leaders of five regions of Russia, including the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The agreement is intended to contribute to the creation of a unified information environment, in particular, to inform about the tourism potential of the regions and the promotion of an interregional project, as well as to promote the development of interregional river transportation. The Volga Way project is being implemented in order to develop domestic tourism and create a new tourism infrastructure within the framework of the national project Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

“We are grateful to the subjects who are actively engaged in the implementation of the President's order. Our citizens really need to have excellent conditions for recreation in the country. Natural conditions are beyond competition, our country is the largest, most beautiful, and definitely surpasses any world resorts in all respects. The only thing left to do is to create a decent infrastructure and routes so that our tourists can have a rest in Russia. The project "The Great Volga Way" will restore the system of interregional river transportation in the Volga Federal District. It also contributes to the development of various types of tourism, including active and cruise vacations on the Volga,” Dmitry Chernyshenko said.
