At the end of 2021, Tatarstan entered the top five regions of Russia in the index of administrative pressure on business. This is stated in the materials of the fourth index, which was formed as part of the annual report of the business ombudsman of the Russian Federation Boris Titov to the head of state Vladimir Putin.

The first five regions in the index look like this: Smolensk region, Udmurtia, Adygea, Tatarstan, Ulyanovsk region, that is, in these regions there is the least burden on entrepreneurs. This is stated in the materials of the index, which was formed as part of the annual report on the results of the activities of the Business Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Boris Titov addressed to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The methodology for calculating the index of administrative pressure by region is based on three performance indicators for each of the eight covered control and supervision bodies - Rospotrebnadzor, Rosprirodnadzor, Rostechnadzor, Rosselkhoznadzor, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rostransnadzor, Roszdravnadzor and Rostrud.

The following indicators are the share of organizations and individual entrepreneurs subjected to control and supervision of the total number of controlled entities (the less, the better); share of warnings from the total number of punishments (the more, the better); share of preventive activities in the total number of activities (the more, the better). The total value of these parameters determines the place of the region in the general index.
