Since the beginning of March, small and medium-sized businesses have attracted financing for 50 billion rubles under the preferential lending incentive program (LCP) of the SME Corporation and the Central Bank. This is three times more than in the same period in 2021. Tatarstan is among the leading regions in terms of the amount of support received under the program of the federal department.
Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tatarstan issued 98 loans for 1.1 billion rubles. In total, today, in the total limit of the PSK program of 335 billion rubles, the portfolio of the SME Corporation has already reached 150 billion rubles.
More than 90% of PSK borrowers are representatives of small and micro businesses. Almost three-quarters of loans (72%) were used by entrepreneurs for revolving purposes, another 28% used borrowed funds for investments. Most of all loans under the PSK program were received by entrepreneurs from the sphere of manufacturing, transportation and construction, as well as catering.
In March 2022, PSK programs became the main lending programs for businesses. This is explained by the fact that the rates on them were fixed, despite the increase in the key rate of the Central Bank to 20%.
“We expect a surge in demand for investment lending in June. Now most companies are waiting, including counting on a rate cut. We understand that current interest rates are high for businesses. We hope that the situation in the economy will improve and will allow the Central Bank to further reduce the key rate, and we will improve credit conditions,” said Alexander Isaevich, General Director of the SME Corporation.
He added that, despite the fact that the PSK Investment program has been running for 1.5 months, SME Corporation continues to receive complaints from businesses through Service 360° and social networks that banks refuse to lend to them, citing no limits or information.
“All the limits and all the necessary information have long been brought to the banks. And their management knows this. And if, somewhere in the field, entrepreneurs still have such problems, then we deal with such situations. Through our “Service 360°” we are waiting for information from the business in order to quickly connect to the solution of the issue and promptly help everyone,” Alexander Isaevich emphasized.
