The Government of the Russian Federation will introduce a moratorium on scheduled inspections of individual entrepreneurs and small businesses in 2022

4 March 2022, Friday

From March 10, 2022, the Russian Government will introduce a moratorium on scheduled inspections for individual entrepreneurs and small businesses, as well as on scheduled inspections of accredited organizations in the field of information technology until the end of 2024.

The moratorium on small businesses will be valid until December 31, 2022, except in cases where there are risks to the life and health of citizens. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting of the Russian Government.

Exceptions are inspections of small businesses, the objects of control of which are classified as extremely high and high risk, as well as in respect of which a permanent state control (supervision) regime has been established.

The relevant amendments to federal legislation have been prepared within the framework of a draft law developed to implement a set of measures of a socio-economic nature in relation to citizens of the Russian Federation and Russian legal entities. On March 4, 2022, the draft law was adopted by the State Duma of Russia (project No. 80712-8) and sent to the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

These measures will avoid a significant increase in inspections in 2022 compared to 2021 and previous years, which will significantly reduce the administrative burden on a large number of small businesses.
