The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia will take into account the interests of Tatarstan in terms of expanding the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga" to accommodate projects in the petrochemical industry. This was announced in his report by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Khersontsev at the final board of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“Special economic zones of the republic play an important role in attracting investments. In 2022, we plan to continue work on the development of legislation on SEZs. I know that the issues of the possibility of excisable activities in the territory of the SEZ for projects in the field of metallurgy and the expansion of the SEZ "Alabuga" in order to support investments in the petrochemical industry are relevant for Tatarstan," Khersontsev said.

In his speech, he also noted that Tatarstan is one of the leading regions in terms of the quality of life of the population and a number of key macroeconomic indicators. “The republic is a pilot region for the implementation of federal projects. One of these initiatives is the introduction of a regional investment standard developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation under the leadership of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov,” Khersontsev specified.

The Deputy Minister also noted the active participation of the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan in the development of a set of investment rules and investment declarations.
