Today, on the territory of the special economic zone "Alabuga" (Yelabuga Municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan), a ceremony was held to launch the serial production of Aurus Senat cars.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov, the General Director of the State Corporation "Rostec" Sergey Chemezov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the launch ceremony via videoconference.
Giving a welcoming speech, Vladimir Putin recalled that for the first time in the history of Russia, a whole line of executive class cars was created "from scratch". In addition, a recognizable traditional design is provided.
The Russian President stressed that the development of the car was carried out in close cooperation with specialists and engineering centers in Europe and Asia. Everything was done quickly, and our partners were surprised and happy with us, said Vladimir Putin.
The President of Russia emphasized that about 70% of the suppliers of components are Russian companies.
"We expect that the serial production of Aurus cars will strengthen the presence of Russian cars on the international market, and will provide an opportunity to increase the export of high-tech products. And of course, the opening of a production site in Tatarstan is another incentive for the development of the region. Tatarstan is already in the forefront in many indicators, but due to the emergence of modern jobs, increased tax revenues, which are necessary for solving social problems, Tatarstan will take another step forward. I would like to once again say thank you to everyone who worked on the creation of the new production, as well as on the development of Aurus cars in general. I congratulate the staff of the enterprise on the start of work. I wish you all further success and, of course, all the best," Vladimir Putin said.
Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov also recalled that today we are launching serial production of the "Senate" model on a full cycle-from body welding to final tests. "For each machine that comes off the assembly line, customers are offered a wide range of customized solutions," he said. – Taking into account this customer-oriented approach, the serialization will gradually increase to 5,000 copies per year. All technological operations are tied to a single IT system, this is the ability to support production processes at all stages, from the acceptance of materials and components to the digital configuration of units and systems. I would like to thank our investment partner, Tawazun Holding from the United Arab Emirates, as well as the component suppliers. And the fact that this is happening in one of the most dynamically developing special economic zones "Alabuga" is largely due to the personal merit of Rustam Nurgalievich, who actively attracts investors to create high-tech industries. I wish all the participants of the Aurus project to successfully implement all the plans for its further development!"
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, in turn, thanked for the high trust. The project would not have been possible without the government's support, he said.
"We are already known as the automobile republic, our KAMAZ trucks are known all over the world. And I am sure that Aurus will be the same brand, " said Rustam Minnikhanov.
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted that Tatarstan works closely with Tawazun and has experience.
Thank you very much, we will work hard to make Aurus a successful project, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
"Vladimir Vladimirovich, permit me to launch the start of serial production of Aurus cars," Denis Manturov said, addressing the head of state.
"Permission granted!” – Vladimir Putin answered.
Thus, the ceremonial launch of the Aurus Senat cars into mass production took place.
In his closing remarks, Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled that there were really a lot of solutions within the framework of the project – this is the engine, transmission, and other components.
"I have already said that about 70% of the suppliers are Russian companies," Vladimir Putin said. – I hope that in June, as planned, the shipment will be carried out. By 2022, the localization level should be 80 percent. Today it is about 53 percent. And please pay the necessary attention to this. The result is good, and achieved in a short time."
