SIA invites you to take part in an International competition to solve global social problems with the help of artificial intelligence and Big Data

The Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects (hereinafter – the Agency), together with the World Bank, announced the launch of the international digital solutions competition "World AI&Data Challenge". The Agency is holding the Competition for the third time, participants from the Republic of Tatarstan were previously mentioned among the winners. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko became the Chairman of the Supervisory board of the Competition in 2021.

The competition is aimed at solving global socio-economic problems with the help of big data processing technologies (Big Data) and artificial intelligence (AI, AI or Artificial Intelligence). During its history, the Competition has gathered more than 8 thousand participants, more than 100 solutions for implementation in the regions are presented, 20 of which are open source. The solutions are available on the Smarteca platform and have already been replicated in 25 regions of the Russian Federation.

The World AI&Data Challenge project continues at the "Digital Solutions for Regions Competition" at the global level, which in 2019 was attended by 43 regions and more than 1000 data analysts in Russia. As a result, 9 regions that implemented 10 developed digital solutions reached the final, in particular, the development team from the Republic of Tatarstan, which provided a "Automatic classification of citizens 'appeals" solution for the Ryazan region.

Tasks for the competition can be submitted by the authorities of the Russian regions, communities and data owners, including from other countries.

The competition is held in several stages. At the first stage, there is a selection of tasks, at the second – IT and data specialists offer their solutions, which are then implemented by customers at the third stage.

How to participate in the Contest:
– Determine the direction of the problem, the hypotheses of the solution, and prepare the data.
