Midkhat Shagiakhmetov: We face a serious and strenuous task to ensure GRP growth of 3.9% in 2021

The results of the activities of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2020 were summed up in Kazan and main plans and factors for achieving them for 2021 were determined.

At the end of 2020, the gross regional product of the republic amounted to 2 trillion 447 billion rubles, or 97.1% in comparable prices to the level of 2019. 

"Despite the continuing high degree of uncertainty in the economic conditions for the growth of real incomes of the population and the transition to sustainable economic development, we face a serious and strenuous task to ensure the growth of GRP by 3.9% in 2021," Midkhat Shagiakhmetov stressed in his report.

This target is formed on the basis of plans for the development of economic sectors, municipalities and enterprises themselves. The following main factors of economic development will ensure the growth of GRP: 

- implementation of a new investment cycle for enterprises, promotion of regional investments and development of mechanisms to support them; 

- improving the business and entrepreneurial climate; 

- accelerated development of the small and medium-sized business sector; 

- expansion of sales markets for Tatarstan products and their export potential; 

- improving the efficiency of economic sectors and increasing labor productivity; 

- development of human capital, including through the implementation of national projects and republican programs.
