International Anti-Corruption Day was declared by the UN on December 9, 2003, the day the UN Convention against Corruption was opened for signature.
In 2001, a world conference dedicated to the signing of the UN Convention against Corruption opened in Mexico. Then, within three days, representatives of 100 states of the world signed the new international document. The Convention against Corruption was approved by the UN General Assembly on October 31, 2003.
The purpose of the Convention is as follows:
- promoting the adoption and strengthening of measures aimed at more effective and efficient prevention and fight against corruption;
- encouraging, facilitating and supporting international cooperation and technical assistance in preventing and combating corruption, including the adoption of asset recovery measures;
- promoting honesty and integrity, responsibility, as well as the proper management of public affairs and public property.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry), carry out anti-corruption measures in accordance with the departmental program “Implementation of Anti-Corruption Policy in the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2015-2023” and the work plan of the commission under the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic Tatarstan.
The main anti-corruption measures are aimed at creating an intolerant attitude of civil servants towards corruption, compliance with prohibitions, restrictions and requirements for official conduct established by anti-corruption legislation.
In order to inform the population of the main measures taken to prevent corruption and minimize the conditions of its manifestations, as well as to ensure openness and transparency of the Ministry's work, the official website publishes annual reports on the state of corruption and implementation of anti-corruption policy measures in the Republic of Tatarstan, minutes of meetings of anti-corruption commissions, commissions for compliance with the requirements for official conduct of civil servants and settlement of conflicts of interest, regulatory legal acts of the Ministry.
The Ministry has a helpline phone and mail through which you can provide information on the facts of corruption, and a hot line on development and support of entrepreneurship continues to function. Using the multichannel telephone 524-90-90, entrepreneurs receive advice on a wide range of issues, including corruption-related problems. In addition, the Ministry has an Internet reception.
