About 78 thousand Tatarstan citizens are registered today as self-employed. In addition, another 8.6 thousand nonresident citizens registered in other constituent entities of the country chose the republic as a region to conduct their activities. This year, as of August 1, Tatarstan self-employed paid 154.8 million rubles in tax deductions.
According to the Federal Tax Service, the most popular activities among self-employed residents of the republic are passenger transportation, renting out apartments, consulting, tutoring, programming, marketing and advertising. Let us recall that at the end of the pilot 2019, the self-employed of Tatarstan paid 142.8 million rubles in the form of tax on professional income.
Also, for current and newly registered self-employed citizens, “tax capital” is provided in the amount of one minimum wage (12,130 rubles), due to which self-employed residents of the republic will be able to make tax payments this year without raising their own funds, preserving their income and thereby working in legal field. This tax capital increases the already existing “tax bonus” provided automatically in the amount of 10 thousand rubles.
Stimulating citizens to legalize their business by registering as self-employed is the main goal of the regional project “Improving the conditions for doing business”, provided for by the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives”.
Now Tatarstan self-employed can get information and consulting support through the “My Business” center and from the specialists of the Internet resource “Verified Business”. You can get advice on the mechanism for paying insurance premiums, using the application and issuing checks for transactions, concluding an agreement with legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. In addition, seminars on doing business are held for self-employed residents of the republic, they have access to the republican exchange platform.
Also, for citizens who have chosen “Tax on professional income”, training on the Wildberries trading platform is organized to promote their products to markets outside of Tatarstan. There are successful examples, for example, the self-employed L.R. Bazukova registered on the Internet retailer's site during the self-isolation regime and has since successfully been selling handmade ceramics using the site.
On June 8, 2020, a law was adopted at the federal level providing self-employed people with access to state support measures. Among them - the expansion of preferential financial instruments, an increase in training programs, provision of marketing support.
These support measures will be available after adoption of the appropriate changes to federal regulations in September-October this year. Implementation of the law and expanding access to support measures will create favorable conditions for the involvement of citizens in the legal business environment.
