Wholesale distribution center in Elabuga will open at the end of August

The opening of a wholesale distribution center for X5 Retail Group in the single-industry town of Elabuga of the Republic of Tatarstan will take place at the end of August. The new enterprise will provide the city with about 270 jobs and will contribute to the development of transport and logistics services.

Construction of the republic’s second wholesale distribution center for X5 Retail Group has been completed in Elabuga. Its area was more than 17 thousand square meters. With support of the Single-industry Towns Development Fund, all necessary communications have been brought to the wholesale distribution center, and a road has been built.

For the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure for the logistics center, the Single-industry Towns Development Fund provides funding in the amount of almost 148 million rubles. Almost 42 million rubles were also allocated from the Tatarstan budget for these purposes. At the expense of these funds, gas, water, heat and power supply networks, water disposal, a boiler house were built, as well as the highway was reconstructed.

The opening of a new wholesale distribution center will employ about 270 people in the single-industry town. The total volume of investments attracted to the project amounted to almost 980 million rubles. In addition, the favorable geographic location of the facility will allow the grocery company to arrange supplies to retail chains throughout the Volga Federal District, and will also contribute to the development of transport and logistics services in Elabuga.

The economic development of seven single-industry towns of the republic is facilitated by joint agreements between the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan and the Single-industry Towns Development Fund on co-financing of construction and reconstruction of infrastructure facilities. The activities of the Ministry and the Fund are aimed at improving the investment climate of the mono-territories of Tatarstan and, as a result, the development of small and medium-sized businesses in such cities.

So, let us remind you that another wholesale distribution center X5 is located at an industrial site in Zelenodolsk. In 2016 - 2018, the МОНОГОРОДА.РФ Fund also financed the construction of infrastructure in the amount of 931 million rubles.
