The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a weekly meeting on topic: “On implementation of the Action Plan to ensure the sustainable development of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan in the context of the worsening situation due to the spread of a new coronavirus infection”. Members of the working group on ensuring sustainable development of the economy of the Republic, all municipalities of Tatarstan, representatives of relevant ministries and departments took part. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, who noted that the main task of the working group in implementation of anti-crisis measures is the timely delivery of assistance provided at the federal and republican levels to specific addressees.

The meeting agenda includes a number of normative legal acts on new support measures adopted this week. In particular, a new support measure related to the agro-industrial complex - agricultural producers who have taken preferential loans will be able to take advantage of the delay in payments. In terms of short-term loans (up to 1 year), agricultural producers from SMEs will be able to extend the term of the loan for a year and transfer payments on accrued interest for the same period. This option is available if the loan expires in 2020. In terms of investment loans (from 2 to 15 years), their recipients will be able to apply for a deferred payment both on interest and on the principal debt for 2020.

The third measure on the agenda was the allocation of more than 6 billion rubles from the reserve fund of the Government of the Russian Federation for the provision of subsidies to the budgets of 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation for the development of infrastructure to ensure the commissioning of housing. Subsidies are allocated within the framework of the state program “Provision of affordable and comfortable housing and utilities for citizens of the Russian Federation”. The funds will be used to build heating networks, water supply, sewerage, roads, kindergartens and schools, which will help to put into operation about 600 thousand square meters of housing. For the Republic of Tatarstan, the subsidy is provided in the amount of 972 million rubles for the construction of two schools in Kazan.

Also within the framework of the meeting, the reports on implementation of measures to ensure the restoration of employment and income of the population, economic growth and long-term structural changes of the Pestrechinskiy, Sabinskiy and Zainskiy districts were heard.
