Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan talked about cooperation with SO NPOs and social entrepreneurs

A seminar for state civil and municipal servants of Tatarstan on topic “State support and interaction with socially oriented non-profit organizations and social entrepreneurs” was held at the Higher School of State and Municipal Administration of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, which brought together representatives of regions of the Republic responsible for working with NPOs and social sphere. The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy, the Department of Public Service and Personnel under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Non-profit organizations annually make a significant contribution to the development of the social sphere. A significant number of social projects are being implemented, including with support of large businesses, as well as federal and regional grants. Only in the last contest of the Presidential Grants Fund the NPOs of Tatarstan were able to attract more than 120 million rubles for 66 projects, almost half of which are projects from regions of the Republic. Tatarstan NPOs work with socially unprotected layers of the population, open children's and rehabilitation centers, sports grounds, improve their territories, deal with environmental issues and animal welfare, and hold distinctive and original events.

Establishing business relations and building highly efficient work of municipalities and NPOs is a task facing regional employees, which became the main topic of the seminar. Also, the online event was aimed at building partnerships between non-profit organizations and public authorities to solve socially significant issues.

Head of the Department of Public Administration and Personnel under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksandr Belov and Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Pelevin addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Also, representatives of the Office of the President, the Ministry of Economy and other structures broadcast successful experience in working with non-profit organizations.

At the online event, the speakers answered basic questions in the field of state and regional policies for supporting and developing SO NPOs, inter-sectoral social partnerships and solving social problems with participation of non-profit organizations.

The seminar addressed the issue of attracting financial resources to the social areas of regions, project management, as well as the role of Public Councils in development of socially oriented non-profit organizations in municipalities and conditions for public control over their activities. In addition, an educational program on legal, organizational and economic aspects of activities of non-governmental (non-municipal) NPOs was conducted for participants.
