Export Support Center and eBay will launch worldwide sales for Tatarstan entrepreneurs

16 June 2020, Tuesday

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Export Support Center, eBay Marketplace and ZoneSmart integrator company, are launching a program to develop retail export sales via eBay for small and medium-sized businesses from Tatarstan. Placing goods on the marketplace will allow entrepreneurs of the Republic to sell them around the world.

Within the framework of the program, a jury consisting of representatives of eBay, the Center and ZoneSmart will select the 10 most promising export-oriented companies in Tatarstan. The Export Support Center of the Republic will provide selected participants with 100% subsidization of services of the integrating company ZoneSmart in establishing a seller’s profile and placing goods on the eBay marketplace.

Participants in the initiative will receive a ready account on eBay to start sales. Only a standard set of documents for registration and a catalog of goods will be required from companies. The integrator will also train exporters in successful business on the site - experts with experience in placing Russian products on foreign marketplaces will share secrets.

“In the Republic, new opportunities are actively developing for the export of goods of local entrepreneurs, one of which is access to foreign marketplaces. Such sites open up new markets for our manufacturers and access to a larger consumer audience. During the self-isolation regime, the growth of republican sellers on online platforms has been recorded, and we place great emphasis on online promotion of our exporters, which will allow competitive companies to significantly expand their sales markets. In turn, on the part of the Ministry, we will continue to work to attract, train and support entrepreneurs and producers of goods when their business moves to the online space”, said the Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.

In addition, the three sellers with the most successful sales results for the third quarter of 2020 will receive additional promotion from eBay - shooting video and photo materials about the company, as well as posting them on a special promo page export.ebay.com and on the social networks of the site.

Entrepreneurs who do not pass the preliminary selection will also have the opportunity to expand the boundaries of their business. For them, ZoneSmart will hold a series of training webinars, after which participants will be able to independently start sales on eBay.

The package of subsidized services includes:

• Registration of eBay and PayPal accounts;

• Creation and design of a store on eBay;

• Loading up to 500 product cards (in the “Auto parts” category - up to 10,000);

• Training in working with the site at the level of a professional seller;

• Drawing up an individual promotion strategy on eBay.

To participate, companies must meet the following criteria: should be a subject of SMEs, have a legal address in Tatarstan, and carry out activities in the field of retail or wholesale of goods suitable for sale via the Internet.

Applications for participation are accepted on the program website until July 3.

Ilya Kretov, General Director of eBay in global emerging markets:

“In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in exports from the regions, as well as an increase in the number of exporters on eBay. Local initiatives of regional governments aimed at promoting small and medium-sized businesses abroad actively contribute to this and allow local entrepreneurs to expand their business. Over the past year alone, exporters from Tatarstan have sold more than 50,000 goods abroad. I am sure that thanks to the new program they will be able to bring the Republic of Tatarstan into the top ten most active export regions”.
