During yesterday’s online conference for business “Adaptation Technologies: How to Survive and Grow?”, Rustem Kasimov, Director of the Volga macro-region at Ozon, noted a surge in registration of manufacturers and sellers from Tatarstan at the marketplace. Currently, several hundred Tatarstan companies are actively selling their products on the Ozon platform, and more than 500 are in the process of registration.
According to Ozon, in March the e-commerce sector became more demanded than ever, because it is this market that gives people comfort and opportunity not to limit themselves to their usual everyday purchases, and to thousands of small regional companies to continue to present their products to customers throughout Russia and support personal business.
In a typical order of Tatarstan people, there are now almost 2 times more goods than a year earlier (7-8 against 3-5). In addition to food and FMCG products, customers from Tatarstan are actively ordering goods for distance work and study, as well as home leisure. Many use the method of contactless door-to-door delivery and parcel automat delivery - the number of users who choose these methods is growing every week.
The transition from offline to online is relevant not only for buyers, but also for sellers. According to Rustem Kasimov, over the past week the number of new companies from Tatarstan at the marketplace has more than doubled, more than 500 Tatarstan sellers are currently in the process of registering and placing their goods on the marketplace.
In addition to an increase in number of new entrepreneurs and stores on the Ozon platform, it also notes an increase in the range of already actively selling partners from Tatarstan - there are already several hundred of them on the site - so, on March 25, the number of assortments added per day increased by 30% compared to the average daily value of 2020. About 60% of entrepreneurs from Tatarstan are sellers of clothing, food, household goods and electronics.
In order to support the business of Tatarstan entrepreneurs, as well as to provide a high level of service for their customers, fulfillment centers and points of reception of goods Ozon will continue to work in high availability mode.
Let us recall that the OZON group of companies plans to implement an investment project to build a logistics center with an area of 40 thousand square meters in an area of 10.5 hectares. The volume of attracted investments will amount to 2.7 billion rubles. The distribution center of the online trading operator will open in the III quarter of 2020, the project will create about 1,776 new jobs and deliver millions of goods to any of the 3,000 settlements of Tatarstan.
