About 4,000 vehicles switched over to methane in four years in Tatarstan

Since 2016, the state program “Development of the gas engine fuel market in the Republic of Tatarstan” has been successfully implemented in Tatarstan. Over four years, 12 re-equipment and maintenance centers (RMC) were accredited. 6 of them are located in Kazan, 3 - in Naberezhnye Chelny, 1 each - in Bugulma, Nizhnekamsk and Leninogorsk.

As part of implementation of this program, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan has provided subsidies to accredited RMCs for reimbursement of lost revenue from the transfer of vehicles to methane. Financial support for 2016-2019 was provided in the amount of 111.2 million rubles.

3,867 vehicles were reequipped. 782 vehicles of these were switched over to methane in 2016, 849 - in 2017, 1277 - in 2018, 949 - in 2019.

In 2020, implementation of the state program “Development of the gas engine fuel market in the Republic of Tatarstan” will continue.
