Today, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksei Pesoshin introduced the new leader to the staff of the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan. He was the former head of the CEC RT Midkhat Shagiakhmetov. Farid Abdulganiyev, who headed the department since 2018, was appointed as Assistant to the President of Tatarstan.

Aleksei Pesoshin noted the great contribution of Farid Abdulganiyev to development of the economy of the republic. So, in Tatarstan there is an increase in the number of small and medium-sized enterprises. The share of SMEs in the region’s GRP is more than 26% - this is the highest indicator in the history of the republic. The number of people employed in small business has grown to 600 thousand people. With participation of Farid Abdulganiyev, the start of the implementation of national projects in the republic and a pilot project for the registration of self-employed was given.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan stressed that the republic received a significant amount of benefits, which allowed to build up its economic potential. For example, in the framework of the national project on development of SMEs, the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan raised 1.6 billion rubles from the federal budget. “The new direction of your work, defined by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, will be a logical continuation of the development of small and medium-sized businesses. I want to wish you success in your new post”, added Aleksei Pesoshin.

Introducing the new leader, the Head of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that Midkhat Shagiakhmetov had already headed the Ministry of Economy of the republic from 2010 to 2014. “Your experience and knowledge should contribute to further successful and focused work of the entire staff of the ministry. The President set a serious task - to increase GDP by 5%. This is a huge job, requiring a review of coordination system in development and implementation of strategic plans. It requires a comprehensive vision of development of public administration and the real sector of the economy, improvement of the regulatory environment and much more. We also have questions about working with the Single-Industry Towns Development Fund, attracting residents to industrial parks, as well as development of engineering centers and prototyping centers, which have been invested heavily”, emphasized Aleksei Pesoshin.

Midhat Shagiakhmetov thanked the leadership of the republic for the trust.
