The first positions in the ranking of Russian regions in terms of quality of life at the end of 2019, compiled by RIA Novosti, are still held by Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow Region. Then follow Tatarstan, Belgorod Region, Krasnodar Territory, Voronezh, Leningrad and Kaliningrad Regions. Top ten leaders is closed with Ugra.
According to experts, the top ten regions are characterized by a high level of economic development. They account for about 40% of the total GRP of the regions of Russia, retail turnover and investment in fixed assets.
The rating of the Russian regions by the quality of life compiled by RIA Novosti is based on a comprehensive accounting of 70 indicators that record the actual state of aspects of living conditions and situation in the social sphere. Based on them, a rating score is calculated, which acts as an assessment of inter-regional differences and a ranking criterion for regions. When compiling the rating, data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Central Bank and other open sources were used.
