Tatarstan residents are invited to participate in the program “100 City Leaders”

The Agency for Strategic Initiatives has opened a second selection of city teams and projects in acceleration program for development of urban communities for their active involvement in the process of changing cities for the better “100 City Leaders”. Applications are accepted until February 17 at the crowd-funding platform 100gorodov.ru

Candidates can submit their project in five categories:

- Historical city - projects for activation of urban areas with historical buildings, involvement of abandoned buildings in urban space, development of cultural and historical heritage

- Smart city - projects for development of digital solutions for optimizing urban processes and services (smart citizen, smart community), as well as bridging the “digital divide”

- Children in the city - projects to improve children's comfort and safety in urban areas, creation of new children's services

- Creative clusters - projects on organization of spaces for development of entrepreneurship in the field of creative industries

- Cultural and historical heritage - projects for development of crafts, traditions and memorials

Each project application must solve a specific city problem and satisfy the needs of city residents - this is the main selection criterion. The more citizens will use the results of the project, the higher its significance.

It is also necessary to provide for various mechanisms for the active participation of citizens in the project implementation. Priority is given to projects that do not require a substantial increase in budget expenditures and offer alternative financing methods, in particular, raising extrabudgetary funds.

The goal of the “100 City Leaders” program is to develop urban communities and their active inclusion in the processes of changing Russian cities. As a result of implementation of the initiative in 2019, 647 cities from 82 regions of Russia took part in development of projects, 25 city teams completed a full-time accelerator and started implementing projects. More than 100 thousand people became participants in the crowd platform.
