Russia and Czech Republic discussed possibilities of scientific and technical cooperation and localization of foreign production in Tatarstan

The delegation of Tatarstan took part in the XII meeting of the Russian-Czech working group on cooperation in the field of industry and localization of the intergovernmental Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was held in Kazan under the chairmanship of Advisor to the Minister of industry and trade of Russia Viktor Semenov and expert Of the Department of sectoral expertise and industrial policy of the Ministry of industry and trade of the Czech Republic Anna Nikodimova.

Tatarstan is one of the most active subjects of Russia in terms of scientific, technical and investment cooperation with the Czech Republic. The main directions for the development of the dialogue are: export of "KAMAZ" vehicles on the Czech market, the involvement of prospective residents in Tatarstan for the investment platform type of the SEZ "Alabuga", SEZ "Innopolis". In addition, joint projects in the field of machine tools and aircraft engines, energy, and supplies high-tech medical equipment, industrial and road building, energy and biotechnology, development components, as well as the development of tourism and Spa treatment.

The meeting discussed cooperation in the field of industry and the prospects of localization of a number of Czech companies in Russia and, in particular, in the Republic of Tatarstan. The companies "Eidos-Robotics" and "Kazan Plant Europlast" discussed with Czech partners the possibility of cooperation in the supply of industrial robots of their own production. The representative of Kazan JSC "UZGA" told about the implementation of the project of joint production of L610 aircraft. The Czech company "Yugostroy", which today is a resident of the SEZ "Alabuga", indicated interest in finding Russian subcontractors for the production of hydraulic pumps.

The trade turnover between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic is growing annually. Thus, in 2018, its volume amounted to 632 million US dollars, showing an increase over the previous year of 41%. Most of Tatarstan's exports to the Czech Republic are: mineral fuel, oil and products of their distillation, rubber, rubber, finished products. The Republic imports from the Czech Republic various electrical equipment, means of land transport, boilers, mechanical devices. In General, the trade turnover between Russia and the Czech Republic at the end of 2018 increased by 17.41% compared to previous indicators and amounted to 8.7 billion us dollars.
