Special economic zones of Tatarstan come under the unified management of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan

The government of the Republic of Tatarstan has decided to apply the model of management decisions and expertise on the system development of the special economic zone "Alabuga" to the territory of high-tech developments "Innopolis".

The Ministry of economy received the authority of a single center of responsibility for increasing the investment potential of both SEZs through the attraction of new resident companies, financial and intellectual resources. The corresponding Resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alexei Pesoshin.

SEZ "Alabuga" operates under the control of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and is the largest special economic zone of industrial type in Russia. On the territory of the SEZ in the Elabuga district of the Republic of Tatarstan, 58 residents are currently operating, 32 of them are engaged in industry. 6,8 thousand jobs were created. As of July 1, 2019, the volume of investments mastered by residents of the SEZ "Alabuga" for the entire period of activity amounted to 130,3 billion rubles. The volume of revenue of the residents is 444,2 billion rubles.

According to the Ministry of economic development of Russia, "Alabuga" occupies the highest position in the ranking of the effectiveness of the special economic zones of industrial and technical-innovative type. The assessment reflects the performance of SEZ residents, the profitability of investments of Federal, regional and local budgets in the creation of engineering, transport, social, innovation infrastructure and the activities of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan as a governing body of the SEZ.

Taking into account the assessment at the Federal level of the management model implemented in Alabuga, it was also decided to transfer the authority to coordinate the activities of the SEZ "Innopolis" to the Ministry of economy of Tatarstan. The expansion of influence and area of responsibility in the direction of development of priority economic activities is directly related to the competence of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan in the acceleration of development institutions. Currently, it successfully oversees the functioning of SEZs, territories of advanced socio-economic development, industrial sites, attracting significant private and budgetary investments for their development.

The status of a single regional focal point for the development of these territories RT Ministry of economy will be responsible for the expansion of the registry of residents, control over execution by residents of agreements, financing and transfer of high-tech solutions to create highly competitive assets in the field of intellectual property.

In the management of "Innopolis", the Agency aims to qualitatively influence the efficiency of the national economy as a whole through the introduction of new tools and measures of financial and non-financial state support for residents, increasing the return on investment of enterprises, the growth of economic indicators of both SEZs.
