Russia and Italy to discuss prospects for economic cooperation in Kaliningrad

Delegations from the Ministry of economic development of Russia and Italy, development institutions and representatives of the b2b sector of both countries will meet at the XXVIII meeting of the Russian-Italian working group on industrial districts and cooperation in small and medium-sized businesses. Entrepreneurs of Tatarstan are invited to join the Russian delegation.

The event will be held from 28 to 30 October 2019 in Kaliningrad. The business program will allow to discuss topical issues at the interstate level, to build a dialogue between the business community and the authorities. For representatives of Russian business it is an opportunity to find potential suppliers or customers among entrepreneurs from Italy - a series of b2b negotiations is planned at the event.

The participants of the meeting will discuss the development of mechanical engineering and robotics, furniture industry (design, components, equipment), agriculture and food industry technologies, will visit the enterprises of the Kaliningrad region.

The working group operates under the Russian-Italian Council for economic, industrial, monetary and financial cooperation. Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the relevance of economic relations between Russia and Italy. During a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, held in July within the framework of "Innoproma-2019", the President noted the growth of trade turnover between the countries, and the accumulated reciprocal investments reached $ 7.5 billion. According to the data he announced, about 500 Italian firms and banking organizations currently work in the Russian market.
