Arkhangelsk region is considering the possibility of opening a branch of the special economic zone "Alabuga".
Prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and Arkhangelsk region were discussed on July 10, 2019 in the Government of Arkhangelsk region. The meeting was chaired by the deputy governor for investment policy of Arkhangelsk region Alexei Nikitenko.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the possibility of cooperation in the development of special economic zones.
For Arkhangelsk region this format of cooperation means the possibility of creating a territory in the region, which will be subject to all the benefits provided for special economic zones. The set of preferences that the state provides for SEZ residents is really wide and provides significant benefits for investors, business representatives, explained Alexey Nikitenko.
As one of the most promising options, Alexey Nikitenko noted the possibility of opening a branch of the special economic zone "Alabuga"in Arkhangelsk region.
As the Minister of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev said, such interregional cooperation can be an excellent example of mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at developing the investment attractiveness of both regions. Successful experience of development of SEZ "Alabuga" will be a strong base for the beginning of this work.
Shall we recall, that according to the results of activities for 2018 SEZ "Alabuga" received the highest rating at the Federal level.
Today SEZ "Alabuga" has 60 residents. And many companies are interested in scaling up their activities and opening production facilities in other regions of the Russian Federation.
The result of the discussion between the Republic of Tatarstan and Arkhangelsk region was the beginning of joint work to identify the most suitable areas for a joint project. The parties agreed on the exchange of operational information in a weekly format, which will allow to fulfill the task as soon as possible.
At the same time with the formation of the list of promising areas, it is planned to begin the development of a draft agreement on cooperation.
