Today on the basis of Kazan State Energy University an open lecture of the chief adviser of the National Fund for research and development of Finland "SITRA" Timo Makela on the world's directions of circular economy was held.
Timo Makela is an expert in environmental management, finance, sustainable development, clean technologies and green development. Today he spoke about the economy of a closed cycle based on the maximum use of renewable resources with minimal emissions into the environment, minimizing the consumption of primary raw materials and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.
The lecture was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as other ministries, departments, enterprises and organizations of the republic.
Center for circular economy will be open this autumn on the basis of the KSEU. It is created by the "SITRA" Foundation together with a number of interested Tatarstan and Finnish organizations and enterprises. The center will be engaged in the development of educational courses for students and pupils on circular economy, advanced training of employees of enterprises, organizations and departments in this field and research on green technologies in all industries.
The national research and development Fund "SITRA" was established in 1967 and functions as the main body that forms the main directions of the innovation policy of the state, is directly subordinate to the Finnish Parliament. The objective of the Fund is to promote sustainable, balanced development of Finland, the growth of the country's economy, its global competitiveness and international cooperation.
