The new tax on professional income came into force on January 1, 2019 in four pilot regions of the Russian Federation: Republic of Tatarstan, Moscow, Moscow and Kaluga regions. It allows citizens to conduct business with a minimum tax and almost no administrative component.
Individuals and individual entrepreneurs who have switched to the new tax regime, pay tax at a reduced rate of 4% or 6% (in case of providing services to individuals and legal entities, respectively). Take advantage of the new regime can physical persons and individual entrepreneurs, the amount of income of which cumulatively during the year does not exceed 2.4 million rubles.
"We see a positive trend in the registration of self-employed and interest in the special tax regime. Mostly due to the fact that today in Tatarstan there is a lot of informational work being conducted. There is an autonomous non-profit organization "Self-employed support center", which provides citizens with free information services. Residents of the republic are also advised by the expert center of the Internet resource "Proven business". In September, it is planned to hold a large educational forum for small and medium-sized businesses and self-employed, says the first Deputy Minister of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Sibgatullin. "However, one of the most important factors stimulating the self-employed to legalize will be the creation of financial support instruments for them."
In accordance with the Federal project "Improvement of business conditions", JSC "Corporation SME" and JSC "SME Bank" have a task to create a special product providing credit and guarantee support to self-employed citizens.
