The development of the digital economy is being discussed in Moscow

Today, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held parliamentary hearings on the development of the digital economy.

While opening the hearing the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin noted the need to create an effective legal framework for the digital development of the country and the adoption of a number of relevant laws before January 1 next year.

Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov noted the key role of the state Duma in the dialogue on the development of the digital economy.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia has all the prerequisites for integration into the digital world. The country's communications infrastructure is one of the most accessible in the world. Russia ranks 7th in terms of people's involvement in the digital economy. "E-Commerce is developing rapidly," he added.

The Ministry of economic development plans to create a single digital platform for the development, harmonization and adoption of legal acts, said the Minister of economic development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin. The successful implementation of the platform will be the foundation for the future digitalization of public administration and revision of the entire system of current legislation, its codification and inventory through the implementation of the possibility of automated verification of the correctness and consistency of the system of regulations, the presence of legal conflicts, duplicate functions and conflicting formulations.

The decision to hold large parliamentary hearings on the digital economy was made following the meeting of the Council for legislative support of the digital economy under the Chairman of the State Duma held on May 24-25 in Crimea. Members of the Council also recommended speeding up the work on laws that are necessary for the development of the digital economy. The government is preparing more than 20 bills.

Deputy Minister of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Oleg Pelevin took part in the parliamentary hearings.
