SEZ of Tatarstan "Alabuga" demonstrated the highest level of efficiency in 2018

SEZ of industrial and production type "Alabuga" is recognized as 100% effective at the Federal level.

The Ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation published a report on the results of the operation of special economic zones for 2018 and for the period from the beginning of SEZ. The special economic zone of industrial type "Alabuga" has got the highest rate and recognized as 100% effective.  It has received the highest rating in terms of "accumulated total since the start of operation" as well as the overall assessment of activities for the year 2018.

The Ministry of economic development of Russia estimated nine SEZs of industrial and production type in the Republic of Tatarstan, Lipetsk, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Pskov, Astrakhan, Kaluga, Moscow and Tula regions. High marks are also assigned to special economic zones of industrial type of Lipetsk, Moscow and Tula regions.

According to the Minister of economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev, such a high rating was facilitated by the active development of the SEZ in the Republic. So, in 2018, four new plants were launched in the SEZ "Alabuga". The total amount of investment in new production close to 1 billion rubles.

The efficiency of the SEZ operation was evaluated by nineteen absolute and relative quantitative indicators, as well as by four calculated efficiency indicators: the work of SEZ residents, the profitability of investments in the creation of economic zones and the activities of management bodies, the number of attracted investors and created jobs, the volume of investments and capital investments, revenue from the sale of goods, the expenditure of federal and regional budgets, the volume of tax and customs deductions.

In total, as of July 1, 2018, 25 SEZs of four types operated on the territory of the Russian Federation: 9 SEZs of industrial and production type in the Republic of Tatarstan, Lipetsk, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Pskov, Astrakhan, Kaluga, Moscow and Tula regions; 6 SEZs of technical and implementation type in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tomsk regions, the Republic of Tatarstan; 9 SEZ of tourist and recreational type in the Altai territory, the Republic of Buryatia, the Irkutsk region and Tver region.
