A preferential microloan has been developed for social entrepreneurs

Up to 5 million rubles at 5% - a new tool to support social entrepreneurship has been launched in Tatarstan.

The Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan has launched a new loan product “Social Entrepreneur”.

A preferential subsidy is aimed at supporting entrepreneurs whose activities contribute to solving social problems of citizens. In particular, for those who provide employment for citizens from socially disadvantaged groups of the population or work in the social sphere.

The product was developed by the Social Innovation Center together with the Microfinance Center.

As the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiyev noted earlier, despite the fact that the concept of “social entrepreneurship” was legislated only in March of this year, active work on supporting and developing this important social direction in Tatarstan has been going on for a long time. In addition to financial support, free training and seminars are available for social entrepreneurs.

Also this year, a full-fledged master program in Social Entrepreneurship Project Management will appear in Kazan Federal University. The draft program was developed and implemented with support of the Center for Social Innovation of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
