“Walk the City”. Single-industry towns of Tatarstan will join the All-Russian project

Tatarstan will join “Walk the City” All-Russian project. All single-industry towns of the republic - Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Elabuga, Chistopol, Zelenodolsk, Mendeleyevsk, Kamskiye Polyany will become its participants. Residents and volunteers of these settlements will mark objects that may be of interest to tourists — cafes, hotels, museums and others — on Google Maps.

Stages of successful implementation of this project in Tatarstan, were discussed in the Ministry of Economy of the Republic. It was noted that the work on promotion of tourism in single-industry towns will be completed by November of this year.

“Walk the City” is a project aimed at creating conditions for development of domestic tourism and increasing the tourist flow. The initiator of the idea is the Fund for Development of Single-industry towns. In 2019, the project will cover all single-industry towns of Russia, which currently number 319.
