Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University was included in the number of Russian universities, which in 2019 will receive subsidies from the federal budget. Financial support for KFU will be provided in the amount of 430.5 million rubles. This is reported at the Regulation of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 179-r of February 9, 2019.
21 leading universities in the country will receive subsidies aimed at improving competitiveness among the world's leading research and educational centers. State support in the amount of 9.9 billion rubles is provided for by the federal project “Young professionals (Increasing the competitiveness of vocational education)” within the framework of the national project “Education”. Ensuring the global competitiveness of Russian education, Russia's entry into the top 10 countries in the world for the quality of general education is one of the goals of the national project “Education”. As part of its implementation, by the end of 2024, it is planned to double the number of Russian universities that are in the top 500 global university rankings, and also to increase the number of foreign students studying at Russian universities up to 425,000 students.
