Tatarstan maintains its position in terms of GRP. Rosstat published data on gross regional product of the constituent entities of Russia for 2017

Tatarstan retained the 7th place in terms of gross regional product among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 2017. The largest volume was recorded in Moscow, the Tyumen Region, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region, the Krasnodar Territory and the Sverdlovsk Region. The share of GRP of the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of GRP by constituent entities of the Russian Federation was 2.8%.

By this indicator, Tatarstan occupies a leading position among the subjects of the Volga Federal District. The volume of GRP in 2017 amounted to 2,114.18 billion rubles. The largest share in the structure of the economy was occupied by: industry - 45.0%, trade - 12.5%, construction - 9.3%, agriculture - 7.1%.
